Our Psychologists
Dr Elspeth M. Evans, Ph.D., C. Psych. (she/her)
Hello and Welcome to Ferndale Psychology!
I did my undergraduate training in English and Psychology at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, where I graduated with distinction in 2001. I received my MA in 2003 and PhD in 2008 in Clinical Psychology from Western University in London, Ontario, where my research was focused on parent-child attachment and trauma. In graduate school I learned many attachment coding systems based on observable behaviour and am a certified reliable Adult Attachment Interview coder. I trained in many settings (clinics, hospitals, schools) and for a dozen years before entering private practice, I worked as a clinical psychologist at Western University. There, I trained future clinicians, provided individual therapy to students and developed and ran the Mindfulness Meditation programs, including 8-week Mindfulness Meditation groups based on Kabat-Zinn’s MBSR program, a Healing Through Movement group based on training I received in trauma sensitive yoga, and a Mindful Parent group. I have had my own personal mindfulness and yoga practice for over 20 years. In my final years at Western, I was the therapist on the Trans Care team at Health and Wellness.
I am licensed with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario as a Clinical and Counselling Psychologist to work with children, adolescents, adults and families. I engage in regular training and further education to keep up-to-date with my practices.
At Ferndale Psychology I tend to see mainly older adolescents (16+) and adults (up to around age 65) for a personalized and integrative style of individual therapy. I have a special interest in working with parents who are breaking cycles of abuse with their own children. I work with many BIPOC folks and 2SLGBTQIA+ populations. I aim to be trauma-informed, intersectional, affirmative, anti-racist and anti-oppressive.
I am also a clinical supervisor and am an adjunct clinical professor in the Department of Psychology and the Faculty of Education at Western University. This means on occasion I might have a senior graduate student or Psychologist in Supervised Practice working with me. I am a registered provider of services to the Armed Forces and Veterans through Medavie/Blue Cross, as well as Indigenous peoples through NIHB. I also see a limited number of clients through the WSIB Community Mental Health Program. I have completed specialized training to work with all of the above populations of folks.
I also have the privilege of seeing clients who are located not only in Ontario, but also in several other provinces, such as Quebec, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. Please feel free to get in touch if you are located somewhere else in Canada to see if provincial regulations allow you to be seen virtually by our practice.
In my spare time, I enjoy travelling, spending time in nature with my family and friends, practicing yoga, walking my dog, hanging out with my cats, and painting.

Genny Bianchini, M.Sc., Doctoral Candidate in Clinical Psychology (she/her)
Hello and welcome!
I am a PhD candidate in the clinical psychology program at Western University, and I am currently completing a 12-month practicum placement under the supervision of Dr. Elspeth Evans. I completed my undergraduate training at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario in 2019, and received my Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Western University in 2022. My graduate research is focused on developing accessible, inclusive interventions for youth and young adults. My dissertation work is centred on designing mental health supports for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth, with the aim of reducing barriers to care and promoting well-being in underserved communities.
Clinically, I have received training across a variety of settings, including hospitals, community programs, and private practice. I take an eclectic and evidence-based approach to therapy, drawing on strategies from multiple therapeutic modalities to meet each client’s unique needs.
My goal is to support individuals in managing stress, regulating emotions, and building resilience, while fostering self-compassion and personal growth.
Outside of my clinical work, I enjoy reading, bouldering, and running. I’m also an avid baker who’s always up for trying new recipes—some more successful than others, but always made with enthusiasm!
Carly Esipu, M.A., C. Psych. Assoc. (Supervised Practice) (she/her)
Hello and welcome!
I am a Registered Psychotherapist and a Psychological Associate in Supervised Practice, working under the supervision of Dr. Elspeth Evans at Ferndale Psychology. My extensive experience in various clinical settings, including Thames Valley District School Board, London Health Sciences Centre, and private practice, has given me a deep understanding of the complex factors that affect mental health and well-being.
My mission is to provide compassionate support and guidance to individuals navigating life's challenges. I am dedicated to helping you find relief during difficult times, fostering personal growth, and breaking free from unhealthy patterns. Together, we will embark on a journey of self-discovery and transformation, exploring ways to reconnect with your authentic self, uncover deeper meaning, and cultivate a sense of autonomy and fulfillment. My eclectic approach is tailored to your unique needs, ensuring that you feel heard, understood, and supported every step of the way. Whether you are dealing with historical trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, emotional disturbances, relationship issues, identity concerns, problematic behaviours, or loss, I am here to help. My training in CBT, ACT, and Emotion-Focused Therapy, combined with psychodynamic techniques and mindfulness practices, allows me to provide comprehensive and effective support.
At Ferndale Psychology, I primarily work with older adolescents (18+) and adults (up to around age 65), offering a personalized and integrative style of individual therapy.
In my spare time, I immerse myself in creative writing, journaling, and scrapbooking, which allow me to express my thoughts and emotions in unique ways. As an avid traveler, I thrive on exploring new places, seeking adventure, and discovering different cultures. Whether it’s hiking through remote landscapes or wandering through bustling cities, I feel most at home when I’m surrounded by nature or uncovering different wonders of the world.
